...This strong program included the basics of good functional pottery as well as an understanding of what it takes to become an artist in clay. After graduating in 1983, Peter and his wife set up his studio outside Olathe, where he has been working full time in ceramics ever since. He still enjoys making useful items for daily eating and cooking, but Peter’s focus today is on his distinctive and recognizable patterned chargers and other large pieces. He has an extensive and active show history in galleries across the country, and is part of numerous collections. Peter has also done many workshops, taught both adults and children, and has also taught at the KC Art Institute. Peter works full time as a studio artist and his work is available directly from his studio, as well as through his galleries.
